“Basic research, industrial research or experimental research: the Research Allowance Act (01.01.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) also offers founders and newly founded companies interesting opportunities to have their ideas and their development funded by the state.

The new research funding is interesting for founders or newly founded companies 

• industrial research, which includes planned or critical research in order to gain new knowledge and skills with the aim of developing new products, processes or services, and
• the experimental development: This also includes, for example, activities related to the conception, planning and documentation of new products, processes and services.

The wages expended on the research project as well as the costs actually incurred are funded. This also includes the personal contributions of sole proprietorships, who, under certain conditions, can apply for an eligible amount of € 40,00 per proven working hour for the research project at 40 working hours / week.

The special features of this research allowance: It can be applied for retrospectively for projects that started after January 1, 2020. In addition, there are no specifications on the development topic or the technological of the so-called R&D projects.
